SVS316: Amazon S3 to AWS Lambda: A flexible pattern at the core of serverless apps

Resources for SVS316: Amazon S3 to AWS Lambda: A flexible pattern at the core of serverless apps

It's not just image resizing! In this session, we show how to use Amazon S3 as an event source for the core of your application workflow, including language translation, transcription, data processing, and content management. This session walks through the architectures, discusses how these applications work, and provides code repos you can use to build your own scalable production applications.

Using S3 with Lambda

Introduction

Amazon S3 is a highly durable object store in the cloud, and AWS Lambda runs custom code on-demand in response to events. You can combine these two serverless services to build robust, scalable solutions to common problems by using objects in S3 as events that trigger custom code in Lambda. This S3 and Lambda pattern also has many other useful applications - it’s flexible, quick to implement, and easy to understand.
