This new feature allows developers to package and deploy Lambda functions as container images using existing container tooling. With this release, AWS SAM and the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) also added support to manage, build, and deploy Lambda functions using container images. In this session, I discuss managing container images for Lambda functions and how it changes developer workflow and dependency management. I also demonstrate building serverless applications with container-based Lambda functions using both AWS SAM and AWS CDK.
